Basic Finishing Steps

Here are the basic finishing steps for your print. For more ideas, check out other options for finishing.

1. Remove the build platform

Warning

Always remove the build platform before removing the resin tank to avoid dripping leftover material into the printer body. Close the cover immediately after removing the platform to prevent ambient light from curing resin in the tank.

2. Put the build platform on the jig

3. Use the removal tool to remove print

To release the model from the build platform, slide the removal tool under the angled edge of the base and twist, or squeeze the flush cutters under a release tab and lift.

4. Agitate part in IPA

Cover the rinse tub, shake for 30 seconds and let your part soak for 10 minutes.

5. Repeat with a second rinse

Move your part to the second rinse basket, then shake and repeat Step 4 for 10 more minutes. The average model should soak in alcohol for 20 total minutes. For smaller parts, reduce the soak time accordingly.

Tip

After each print, clean excess resin from the build platform and return it to the Form 2. Leaving a wet build platform on the accessory kit makes it very hard to clean later.

6. Remove the supports

Use the snips that come in your Finish Kit to carefully cut the supports attached to your model. After they have been snipped, you can peel them off your model like velcro. See our sanding tips for getting rid of support marks.

7. Finish your part!

Now that you’ve finished your part, keep your resin tank clean and ready for future prints.
