    Form 4 Resin Tank

    Low Force Display™ (LFD) 3D printing uses a flexible yet strong dual-layer film tank for consistent, high-quality prints. Every resin tank includes a reusable lid, making it easy to stack tanks and store resin outside of the machine. With a separate tank for each individual resin color or type, switching materials is as easy as sliding in a new tank.

    Resin Tanks are built to last and deliver consistent performance for at least 75,000 layers of printing — approximately 190 prints using average height model (39 mm tall), any resin, and 100 µm layer height.

FAQ

ESD Resin is a specialty SLA material engineered to produce static-dissipative parts. Unlike standard resins, it allows electrical charges to safely dissipate across the surface of a part rather than building up and causing an unregulated discharge. It also delivers high modulus and impact strength comparable to ABS, making it suitable for demanding production environments rather than display or low-stress applications only.

A static-dissipative material has a controlled surface resistivity (105 to 108 Ohms/sq when properly post-cured) that allows electrical charges to flow across the surface in a regulated way. This prevents the sudden, uncontrolled discharge events that can damage or destroy sensitive microchips and electronic components during handling, assembly, or storage.

ESD Resin is well suited for tooling and fixturing for electronics manufacturing, custom trays for component handling and storage, and anti-static prototypes and end-use components. It is also used across automotive and aerospace manufacturing lines to reduce risk and improve yield.

ESD Resin is compatible with Form 4, Form 4B, Form 4L, Form 4BL, Form 3, Form 3L, Form 3B, and Form 3BL. It uses SLA print technology with a minimum layer thickness of 50 microns.

Post-processing involves two main steps. First, wash the part using isopropyl alcohol or an ether-based solution to remove uncured resin from the surface. Formlabs Form Wash or Form Wash L are both compatible. Second, post-cure the part using a Form Cure or Form Cure L unit. Post-curing is essential for parts to achieve their full strength and intended functional properties by completing the chemical reaction initiated during printing.

Wash time settings are available on the Formlabs support site for Form Wash and Form Wash L. Cure settings are available separately for Form Cure V1, Form Cure V2, Form Cure L V1, and Form Cure L V2.
