Elastic 50A Resin 1 L
RS-F2-ELCL-01
Whether you’re optimizing your manufacturing process, rapidly iterating through designs, or assessing form, fit, and function, Formlabs Engineering Resins are formulated to withstand extensive testing and perform under stress. Our softest Engineering Resin, this 50A Shore durometer material is suitable for prototyping parts normally produced with silicone. Choose Elastic 50A Resin for parts that will bend, stretch, compress, and hold up to repeated cycles without tearing, and spring back quickly to their original shape. The “50A” in the name represents the material’s Shore durometer. If you need a more stiff flexible material, try Flexible 80A Resin.
Available for Form 3 generation printers, and Form 2.
Supports print resolutions: 100 microns.
Post-curing required.
Requires Resin Tank LT for Form 2. Requires Form 3 Resin Tank V2 for Form 3/3B.
Elastic Resin decreases the lifetime of resin tanks. Read more about Resin Tank LT lifetime and Form 3 Resin Tank lifetime. Notice: Form 3 Resin Tank V1 is incompatible with Rigid, Grey Pro, Elastic, and Tough 2000 Resins. Read more about tank versions, lifetime, and maintenance in our support article.

Why Choose Elastic 50A Resin?
Elastic 50A Resin is an elastomeric material with high elongation and high energy return. Parts are highly elastic, yet strong enough not to tear during printing.
Fast Springback
Bend, stretch, and compress parts that resume their normal shape afterwards.
Transparent
Create objects that are clear, providing visibility into the model.
High Tear Strength
Able to withstand rugged use for multiple cycles.
Pliable
Produce parts that look and feel like a molded silicone part.
Applications
Elastic 50A Resin is ideal for developing soft, flexible prototypes normally produced with silicone.

* Material properties may vary based on part geometry, print orientation, print settings, and temperature. Data was obtained from parts printed on a Form 2 printer with 100 µm Elastic settings, washed in a Form Wash for 20 minutes, and post-cured at 60°C for 20 minutes in a Form Cure.
Post-Processing
Form Wash Settings
10 minutes + 10 minutes
Wash Elastic 50A Resin for 10 minutes on the build platform. Remove parts from the build platform, then wash for 10 more minutes using fresh solvent. Avoid washing Elastic 50A Resin for longer than 20 minutes, as this may degrade parts.

For parts printed in an engineering-focused resin (such as those in the Rigid, Tough & Durable, and Flexible & Elastic families), post-curing ensures that the parts reach their optimal mechanical properties and can function as designed. There is only one recommended post-curing time for Elastic 50A Resin.
