Fast Model Resin is Formlabs' fastest 3D printing resin, built for the Form 4 Series ecosystem. It prints at speeds of over 100 mm/h on Form 4 and 80 mm/h on Form 4L, making it possible to complete a fully packed build platform in under two hours on Form 4 or under five hours on Form 4L.

Fast Model Resin is compatible with Form 4, Form 4B, Form 4L, and Form 4BL printers. It works with the Form 4 Resin Tank and Form 4L Resin Tank, as well as both standard and Flex Build Platforms for each printer.

Fast Model Resin is the next generation of Draft Resin, formulated specifically to take advantage of the Form 4 ecosystem. Compared to Draft Resin V2, it prints three times faster, is 45% stronger and stiffer, and has a more opaque, matte grey appearance.

On the Form 4, Fast Model Resin prints at speeds exceeding 100 mm/h, allowing a full build platform to complete in under two hours. On the Form 4L, it prints at speeds over 80 mm/h, allowing a full build platform to complete in under five hours. Print time remains consistent regardless of how densely the build platform is packed.

When post-cured at 60 °C for 15 minutes, Fast Model Resin achieves an Ultimate Tensile Strength of 62 MPa, a Tensile Modulus of 2700 MPa, a Flexural Strength of 106 MPa, and a Heat Deflection Temperature of 76 °C at 0.45 MPa. Post-curing is optional for general purpose resins. However, Formlabs recommends a short post-cure to reduce surface tack and improve mechanical properties. Formlabs recommends using Form Cure or Form Cure L units. Cure settings are available separately for Form Cure V1, Form Cure V2, Form Cure L V1, and Form Cure L V2.

The foundational post-processing step is washing parts in an alcohol or ether bath to remove excess resin from the surface. Formlabs recommends using Form Wash or Form Wash L with the appropriate time settings available on the Formlabs support site.
