* Nylon 12 White Powder is recommended to print in nitrogen to maintain the most consistent white appearance. Printing in air has been correlated with yellowing of powder over time. Powder yellowing has little to no impact on the ability and efficacy of dyeing printed parts.
** Nylon 11 Powder is recommended to print in nitrogen environment. Printing in air is possible, but will compromise material properties and lead to powder degradation at a faster rate.

Post-Processing
Post-processing with the Fuse Sift powder recovery station and media blasting is necessary. To learn more about post-processing Fuse Series prints, download our workflow guide.

Bulk Powder Pricing for Your Lowest Cost Per Part
3D printing is now cost-effective even at higher volumes thanks to substantial volume discounts for our SLS Powders. Discounts start at 20% for customers purchasing 50 kg of powder in bulk and prices can reach as low as $45 per kilogram.
FAQ
Nylon 11 CF Powder is filled with carbon fiber, which significantly increases its stiffness and strength compared to unfilled nylon. The result is a material that combines the rigidity of carbon fiber with the ductility of nylon 11, while also offering a high strength-to-weight ratio and excellent thermal stability. You can compare it to other SLS powders using the Choosing the Right Powder guide.
Key properties include an ultimate tensile strength of 69 MPa (X-axis), a tensile modulus of 5.3 GPa (X-axis), a flexural strength of 110 MPa, a flexural modulus of 4.2 GPa, and a notched Izod impact resistance of 74 J/m. Note that properties vary by print orientation. For the full breakdown, download the Nylon 11 CF Powder Technical Data Sheet.
Parts printed with Nylon 11 CF Powder maintain dimensional accuracy at elevated temperatures, with a heat deflection temperature of 178 °C at 1.8 MPa and 188 °C at 0.45 MPa. This makes it well suited for long-term use in high-temperature environments.
Yes. Nylon 11 CF Powder is certified for skin contact and mucosal membrane contact, making it suitable for relevant medical and wearable applications.
Nylon 11 CF Powder is compatible with Fuse 1+ 30W. It is not compatible with the original Fuse 1 or the Fuse X1.
Yes. Nylon 11 CF Powder must be printed in an inert nitrogen atmosphere. Printing without nitrogen control will compromise material properties and accelerate powder degradation. Learn more about using inert atmospheric control.
Nylon 11 CF Powder has a recommended refresh rate of 30%, meaning you can incorporate up to 70% recycled powder into each new print cycle to manage material costs and maintain part quality.
Nylon 11 CF Powder is Formlabs' highest-performance material for the Fuse 1+ 30W and is ideal for parts that need to be strong, lightweight, and dimensionally stable over time, including at elevated temperatures. Typical applications include metal replacement and spare parts, high-impact equipment, tooling, jigs, fixtures, and functional composite prototypes.
After printing, parts require powder removal and cleaning using the Fuse Sift powder recovery station, followed by media blasting. For a complete walkthrough, download the Fuse Series Workflow and Technology Guide.
