Cleaning the Fuse Sift's vent filter
Cleaning the Fuse Sift's vent filter
The vent is located at the back of the Fuse Sift's workspace and takes up the entire rear panel. Its purpose is to contain powder within the workspace and prevent these small particles from rising in a plume.
Over the course of regular use, the vent filter becomes saturated with powder and needs to be cleaned to continue functioning as intended. Formlabs recommends that the filter be vacuumed after processing ten prints.
To clean the Fuse Sift's vent filter:
- Press the Vac button on the Fuse Sift's control panel or tap the vacuum hose icon on the touchscreen. The vacuum turns on.
- Lift the vacuum hose from the hanger on the back-left corner of the Fuse Sift.
- Begin vacuuming powder from the vent, starting in the top-left corner of the rear panel.
- Move the vacuum hose from left to right, paying special attention to remove the powder from the filter pleats behind the vent grate. Take note of any loose powder falling down into the workspace.
- Move down and across the entire vent grate until loose powder stops falling out of the vent filter.
- Vacuum any powder that fell into the Fuse Sift's workspace.
- Press the Vac button on the control panel or tap the vacuum hose icon on the touchscreen. The vacuum turns off.
- Reconnect the vacuum hose to the port on the side of the Fuse Sift so that it can be used in the regular operation of the machine.
