Buzzing noise while not in use (Fuse Blast)
The Fuse Blast produces many noises during a cleaning cycle under normal operation. Buzzing noises while the unit is idle and the air compressor is disconnected may indicate an issue with the pressure regulator.
Causes
- Malfunctioning air compressor
- Malfunctioning pressure regulator
- User error
Symptoms
- Unusual buzzing noise when the unit is idle and the air compressor is disconnected
Troubleshooting steps
- Power cycle the Fuse Blast using the breaker switch on the rear of the machine. Leave the unit powered off for at least 30 seconds before powering back on.
- Disconnect the air compressor.
- If the noise stops, the issue may be with the air compressor.
- With the unit idle, tap the Fan button on the touchscreen to turn off the fan. Wait a few seconds for the fan to audibly stop.
- If the noise persists with the fan and the air compressor turned off, you may need to replace the pressure regulator. Take a video of the malfunctioning unit with sound to help diagnose the issue. Attach the file when contacting Formlabs Support or your certified service provider.
