Cleaning the Fuse X1 camera purge tubing
Cleaning the Fuse X1 camera purge tubing
The Fuse X1 purges the region in front of the IR sensor and camera windows to keep them free of contamination and reduce the frequency at which you need to clean them. Over time, contaminants can build up in the tubing that connects to the camera purge housing, reducing the efficacy of the purge and allowing the camera window to become dirty.
Clean the camera purge tubing after every 480 hours of printing time (roughly monthly), or when indicated by the printer touchscreen.
To clean the camera purge tubing:
-
Power off the printer. Cleaning the camera purge tubing with the printer powered on could expose multiple components to contamination.
-
Using an 8 mm hex driver, unlatch and open the maintenance access door.
-
Loosen the hose clamp securing the outlet tube to the camera purge. It is the tube on the right side of the camera purge.

- Open the purge filter door to the left of the camera.
- Use the included pipe cleaning brush to carefully clear out any buildup from inside the tube, pushing the brush all the way to the filter box.
- Vacuum any loose particulate from inside the outlet tube.
- Vacuum any loose particulate inside the purge filter cabinet, particularly from the outlet next to the filter.
- Reconnect the outlet tube to the camera purge housing and secure it with the hose clamp.
- Close the purge filter door.
- Close the maintenance access door. Latch it shut using an 8 mm hex driver.
