Calibrating your Form Auto

Calibrating your Form Auto

Once the Form Auto is powered on and enabled, it must be leveled and calibrated using the printer’s touchscreen.

Leveling the Form Auto

  1. Tap Leveling. The Leveling screen appears. The Form Auto must be level for the printer to print successfully. When the Form Auto is not level, the dot at the center of the concentric rings shifts out of place. One of the feet under the part removal gantry is highlighted with an arrow indicating the direction to turn.

Note:

The Form Auto has three leveling feet. Two are under the part removal gantry and the third is under the cover actuator. When leveling the Form Auto, you only need to adjust the two feet under the part removal gantry.

  1. Remove the leveling disc from the accessories box.
  2. Slide the leveling disc around the foot indicated on the printer’s touchscreen.
  3. Rotate the leveling disc clockwise to raise and counter-clockwise to lower each foot of the Form Auto.
  4. When the dot is at the center of the concentric rings and the dots around it turn blue on the printer’s touchscreen, the Form Auto is level.

Calibrating part removal

  1. Tap Open Cover. The printer cover opens.
  2. Insert a clean Build Platform 2 into the printer.
  3. Rotate the printer into the printing position.

Notice:

The Form Auto requires a Build Platform 2 to automatically release printed parts. Printing with a standard Build Platform may damage the Form Auto or your printed parts.

  1. Tap Calibrate Part Removal. The Calibration screen appears. Do not start the calibration process without a Build Platform 2 inserted into the printer.
  2. Tap Calibrate to start the calibration process. You only need to calibrate the Form Auto once, during setup.

Warning:

Do not remove the cover from the Form Auto while the part removal enclosure or part release arms are in motion. Wait for the calibration process to complete before interacting with the Form Auto. Moving parts present crushing and tangling hazards.

Note:

During the calibration process, the part removal mechanism presses against the back of the build platform and the print surface to determine their exact location within the printer. This may result in a knocking or metallic scraping sound. This is normal and does not indicate damage or a malfunction.
