The Form Wash elevator holds the build platform arms and wash basket. It lowers into the wash bucket at the start of a wash cycle and raises out at the end to let your parts dry. If the elevator plate is bent or otherwise damaged, your Form Wash may not work as expected.
Use this guide to replace the Form Wash (2nd Generation) elevator.

Preparing the workspace
Overview: Prepare the Form Wash and a level workspace for replacing the elevator.
WARNING:
Resin may cause skin irritation or an allergic skin reaction. Wear gloves when handling liquid resin or resin-coated surfaces. Wash skin with plenty of soap and water.
Step 1: Lift the elevator
Turn the Form Wash knob to select Raise on the display. Push the knob to confirm. The Form Wash raises the elevator and basket out of the wash bucket, and opens the outer lid.
Step 2: Remove the build platform mount arms and wash basket
Unhook the build platform mount arms from the elevator. Lift the wash basket off its hook. Set the build platform mount arms and wash basket aside.

DANGER:
Isopropyl alcohol is flammable. Keep containers closed, and keep out of the reach of children.
Removing the elevator
Overview: Unscrew the screws securing the elevator to the unit.
Step 1: Remove the back screws

Using a 2 mm hex driver, unscrew the two screws securing the back of the elevator to the unit. Set the screws aside.
Step 2: Remove the top screws

Using a 2 mm hex driver, unscrew the three screws securing the top of the elevator to the unit. Set the screws aside.
Step 3: Remove the elevator
Lift the elevator off of the Form Wash. Set the elevator aside for disposal.
Installing the elevator
Overview: After removing the original elevator, install the replacement elevator.
Step 1: Mount the elevator
Place the replacement elevator on the Form Wash, aligning the screw holes in the elevator with those on the frame of the unit.
Step 2: Secure the top of the elevator
Thread one screw into each of the three screw holes in the top of the elevator. Use a 2 mm hex driver to tighten until snug.
Step 3: Secure the back of the elevator
Thread one screw into both of the two screw holes in the top of the elevator. Use a 2 mm hex driver to tighten until snug.
Finalizing the repair
Overview: After installing the replacement elevator, perform final checks.
Step 1: Install the build platform mount arms and wash basket
Install the build platform mount arms by inserting the tabs into the selected slots. Slide the arms down to lock them in place. Place the wash basket onto its hook.
Step 2: Lower the elevator
Turn the Form Wash knob to select Lower on the display. Push the knob to confirm. The Form Wash lowers the elevator and basket into the wash bucket, and closes the outer lid. Check that the elevator moves smoothly and the outer lid closes fully. Contact Formlabs Support or your authorized reseller to share the results of the procedure.
