Why Choose Alpha White Resin

Stunning, Precise Parts

Rich, matte color, crisp fine features, and smooth, dimensionally accurate surfaces for parts that are display-ready and fit together.

Blazing Fast

Print speeds average 40 mm/h regardless of part count or size, without compromising reliability.

Engineering-Grade Performance

Exceeds the strength and toughness of ABS-like resins with a 35 MPa ultimate tensile strength and a 26% elongation at break.

Print with Confidence

The Alpha Resin Family uses low-odor components and post-processed parts meet safety requirements for long-term skin contact. Alpha Resins are the first 3D printing materials certified for UL GREENGUARD Gold, when printed on Form Studio 1 and using VOC Extractor.

Applications

Concept models and form-and-fit prototypes with smooth, dimensionally accurate surfaces that are display-ready and fit together.

Architecture and terrain models with exceptional detail.

Scale Models and scenery with rich, matte white finish.

Cosplay bracelets, masks, and components with smooth surfaces that are safe to wear.

Resin Printing with Confidence

Low VOC Emissions

The Alpha Resins are the first resin printing materials to achieve UL GREENGUARD Gold*, an independent standard certifying low VOC emissions for homes, offices, schools, and other indoor environments. This certification is for the printing process - not just for a final part.

Skin-Safe Parts

Post-processed parts meet requirements for long-term (>30 day) skin contact, in accordance with ISO 10993, meaning they can be used in wearables and high-contact applications.

Minimize Risks

Liquid resin scored as non-skin irritant according to OECD 439, a standard commonly used in cosmetics industry, to minimize the risks from incidental skin contact with resin.

Low-Odor Components

Formulated using low-odor chemicals, ensuring a pleasant printing experience.

FAQ

Alpha White Resin is a matte white SLA 3D printing resin in the Formlabs Alpha Resin Family. It delivers crisp fine features and smooth, dimensionally accurate surfaces at an average of 40 mm/h. That makes it a versatile resin for anyone using a 3D printer for models, prototypes, or cosplay.

Yes. Alpha White Resin is well suited for architecture and terrain models with exceptional detail, and for scale models and scenery. Its matte white finish shows fine detail clearly and makes a clean base for painting. That makes it a popular pick for hobbyists building dioramas, tabletop scenery, and display pieces.

Yes. Alpha White Resin is recommended for cosplay bracelets, masks, and components with smooth surfaces. Post-processed parts meet ISO 10993 requirements for long-term skin contact, so they're suitable for pieces you wear.

Alpha White Resin averages 40 mm/h at a 100 μm layer height, regardless of part count or size, without compromising reliability.

Both work well for models. Alpha Model Resin prints at 30 & 50 μm for the finest features and most matte finish, making it the top choice if you're looking for a 3D printer for minis, figurines, and busts. Alpha White Resin prints faster, at 40 mm/h and 100 μm, which suits larger scale models, terrain, and scenery where speed matters as much as detail.

Alpha Resins are the first resin printing materials certified UL GREENGUARD Gold for low VOC emissions in homes, offices, and schools when printed on Form Studio 1 using VOC Extractor. They're also formulated with low-odor components. The liquid resin scored as a non-skin irritant under OECD 439.

Wash parts in clean ≥90% IPA or Formlabs Resin Washing Solution and let them air dry for at least 30 minutes before handling. Post-curing is optional but recommended to reach full strength. Settings are available for Form Studio Wash+Cure, Form Wash, Form Wash L, and Form Cure units.

Alpha White Resin is designed for Form Studio 1.

Post-Processing

Washing

The foundational step in any SLA post-processing workflow is to remove any excess resin on the surface of the parts through a solvent wash.

Use clean ≥ 90% IPA, or use Formlabs Resin Washing Solution.

For the best surface finish, Formlabs recommends allowing parts printed in Alpha Resins to air dry for at least 30 minutes after washing, before handling.

Curing

Post-curing Alpha Resins is optional, but recommended, for parts to achieve their full strength and functionality. This step completes the chemical reaction initiated during printing, transforming the part from its green state into a fully finished component.
