* Nylon 12 White Powder is recommended to print in nitrogen to maintain the most consistent white appearance. Printing in air has been correlated with yellowing of powder over time. Powder yellowing has little to no impact on the ability and efficacy of dyeing printed parts.
** Nylon 11 Powder is recommended to print in nitrogen environment. Printing in air is possible, but will compromise material properties and lead to powder degradation at a faster rate.

Post-Processing
Post-processing with the Fuse Sift powder recovery station and media blasting is necessary. To learn more about post-processing Fuse Series prints, download our workflow guide.

3D printing is now cost-effective even at higher volumes thanks to substantial volume discounts for our SLS Powders. Discounts start at 20% for customers purchasing 50 kg of powder in bulk and prices can reach as low as $45 per kilogram.
FAQ
Nylon 12 GF Powder is a glass-filled variant engineered for significantly higher stiffness and thermal resistance. Its tensile modulus is 2800 MPa, which is well above standard Nylon 12, making it the better choice when structural rigidity and dimensional stability under heat and load are required. You can compare all SLS powders using the Choosing the Right Powder guide.
The material delivers an ultimate tensile strength of 38 MPa, a tensile modulus of 2800 MPa, a flexural strength of 56 MPa, and a flexural modulus of 2400 MPa. Elongation at break is 4% in the X/Y axis and 3% in the Z axis. For the full specification sheet, download the Nylon 12 GF Powder Technical Data Sheet.
Nylon 12 GF Powder has a heat deflection temperature of 113 °C at 1.8 MPa and 170 °C at 0.45 MPa, with a Vicat softening temperature of 175 °C. This makes it well suited for high-temperature applications such as EV connectors and parts exposed to sustained thermal stress.
Yes. Nylon 12 GF Powder is rated for both skin contact and mucosal membrane contact biocompatibility.
Nylon 12 GF Powder achieves the highest dimensional accuracy rating among Formlabs SLS powders, on par with standard Nylon 12 Powder. It also exhibits very low warpage and absorbs minimal moisture, contributing to consistent part dimensions after printing.
It excels at applications that require sustained load-bearing ability and thermal stability, including robust jigs, fixtures, and replacement parts; automotive and aerospace components; small batch enclosures and equipment; and high-temperature end-use parts. It can also print high-tolerance threads, sockets, and moving elements within a single part.
Yes. With its high modulus and thermal stability, Nylon 12 GF Powder serves as a high-performance alternative for creating functional validation prototypes that simulate the behavior of composite materials before committing to final production.
Nylon 12 GF Powder is compatible with Fuse 1+ 30W and Fuse 1 SLS 3D printers. Fuse X1 compatibility will be available by June of 2027. It prints in an air environment on Fuse 1+ 30W and Fuse 1, so no nitrogen atmosphere is required.
The recommended refresh rate for Nylon 12 GF Powder is 50%, which is higher than most other Formlabs SLS powders. This is an important workflow consideration for cost-per-part calculations and powder management.
Post-processing with the Fuse Sift powder recovery station and media blasting is necessary after printing. For a complete walkthrough of the Fuse Series workflow, download the Fuse Series Technology and Workflow Overview.
