Once such an issue is identified and isolated, Formlabs will notify customers who have purchased the affected product and add information about the issue to this article.

Form 4 generation cover hinge

• Issue
  • The cover hinges on a set of early Form 4 generation printers have a manufacturing defect that leaves them unable to stay in the open position. Most affected printers show this failure within the first 200 prints. Some covers stay up if lifted gently but performance may degrade over time. The printer is able to function with this failure, but the user experience is poor.
• Affected products
  • 1,400 Form 4 generation printers assembled before May 4, 2024
  • Units assembled after May 4, 2024 (shipping from warehouses as of July 22, 2024) are not at risk for this type of failure.
• Resolution
  • After you submit the request form above, Formlabs will provide a hinge replacement kit for each affected printer. Replace the cover hinges following the instructions in the guide Replacing the Form 4 cover hinges.

Tough 1500 Resin V2 with poor mechanical properties

• Issue
  • Parts printed with lot 20250827 of Tough 1500 Resin V2 exhibit lower than expected elongation at break and other toughness measurements. Affected resin also has a foamy appearance in the resin tank.
• Affected products
  • Lot 20250827 of Tough 1500 Resin V2
  • Other lots of Tough 1500 Resin V2 are not affected by this issue.
• Resolution
  • After you submit the request form above, Formlabs will provide a coupon equivalent in value to your purchases of Tough 1500 Resin V2 from the affected lot.
