Solvent Compatibility

Formlabs measures resistance to solvents by observing, measuring, and weighing printed cubes (originally measuring 1 cm × 1 cm × 1 cm) before and after immersion in a solvent for 24 hours. For resin samples, the cubes are washed and post-cured according to the standard post-curing recommendations for that resin. Formlabs does not provide solvent compatibility data on materials that are classified as medical devices. Formlabs cannot guarantee that parts printed in materials for biocompatible applications retain their biocompatibility after exposure to solvents other than those specified in the manufacturing guide for that material.

Tested solvents and results

Results are reported as weight gain percentage after 24 hours of exposure to solvent.
