The Form 4BL Basic Package includes the Form 4BL Printer, a Form 4L Resin Tank, a Form 4L Mixer, a Form 4L Flex Build Platform, a Form 4L Finish Kit with Cleaning Tools, a Form 4L Finish Kit Rinse Bucket, and Open Material Mode access.
In addition to the Basic Package, Formlabs offers a Complete Package and a Premium Package for the Form 4BL. Each tier adds more hardware and service coverage for a more turnkey setup.
A service plan is not bundled into the Basic Package, but dedicated Form 4BL Dental and Medical Service Plans are available separately in one-year, three-year, and five-year terms. Visit the Formlabs Service Plans page for details.
The Form 4BL uses Low Force Display™ (LFD) technology, a next-generation masked stereolithography (MSLA) print engine that uses a powerful backlight unit with LEDs, a custom light processing unit, release texture, and a flexible resin tank to cure resin quickly and with high accuracy.
The Form 4BL offers a build volume of 35.3 x 19.6 x 35.0 cm (13.9 x 7.7 x 13.8 in), totaling approximately 24.2 liters, making it a large-format printer suited for high-volume medical production.
The Form 4BL supports 32 industry-leading Formlabs materials, including 12 biocompatible options suited for medical and dental applications. Third-party 405 nm photopolymer resins are also supported via Open Material Mode. Additional new materials are currently in development. Explore all available materials.
The Form 4BL is designed specifically as a large-format medical 3D printer. Its materials library includes biocompatible and sterilizable resins for creating anatomical models and medical devices, paired with easy workflows and leading print reliability.
Print jobs are prepared using PreForm, Formlabs' free print preparation software, which handles model orientation, support generation, and job management.
You can remotely monitor active prints, track material usage, and review print history through Formlabs Dashboard.
After a print completes, parts must be removed from the build platform, washed, and post-cured to achieve optimal material properties. The Basic Package includes Finish Kit cleaning tools and a rinse bucket to support the wash step. For automated washing and curing, Formlabs also offers Form Wash L and Form Cure L.
