Welcome to the Form 4/B Training

Congratulations on your new Form 4/B printer! Learn everything you need to get up and running quickly and successfully with your printer through our training videos and support articles.

To get started, create a Dashboard account to prepare to register your printer after it is unboxed and set up. Dashboard allows you to remotely monitor your prints and printers, track material usage, and explore past and future Formlabs purchases. For detailed instructions, refer to our support article.

1. Preparing Your Space

Before receiving your printer, watch an expert outline how to prepare your space so you’re ready to install and operate the Form 4/B once it arrives, and house the necessary accessories and consumables. Alternatively, read about it in the workspace setup support article here.

2. Receiving and Unboxing Your Printer

Know what to expect when your Form 4/B arrives. Package contents, unboxing, and how to locate your printer’s serial name are all detailed in the unboxing video and support article.

3. Setting up Your Form 4/B

Once your Form 4/B printer is unboxed and placed, let’s turn it on and get it ready to print! Check out our support article and the video to learn how to turn the printer on and insert the resin tank, mixer, build platform, and resin cartridge.

4. Starting a Print with PreForm

If you haven’t already, download PreForm, Formlabs' print preparation software. Check out our support article and the video to learn the basics of how to orient and support your model and send your print job from PreForm to your printer.

If you want to take the pressure off your first print, start with our provided part. We’ve tested this part to make sure it prints well, giving you a chance to familiarize yourself with how your printer works before jumping into more complex prints.

Your print will start automatically if you have installed and confirmed all the consumables before uploading the print. See our support article for detailed instructions.

5. Post-Processing Your Print

Once your print is complete, it needs to go through a few post-processing steps to look and perform its best. Check out our support article and the video to learn how to remove parts from the printer, wash your parts, clean your build platform, remove supports, and post-cure your parts.

6. Maintaining the Form 4/B

While there is some preventative maintenance, such as keeping software and firmware up to date, most maintenance steps will be performed when dictated by certain print events. Listen to an expert from our Services team explain the most important maintenance steps in the video.
