* Material properties may vary based on part geometry, print orientation, print settings, and temperature. Data for post-cured samples were measured on Type IV tensile bars printed on a Form 3 printer with 100 μm Model Resin settings, washed in a Form Wash for 10 minutes in ≥99% isopropyl alcohol, and post-cured at 60 °C for 5 minutes in a Form Cure.

Washing
The foundational step in any SLA post-processing workflow is to remove any excess resin on the surface of the parts through an alcohol or ether wash.
SETTINGS
Curing
Post-curing for General Purpose Resins is optional. However, Formlabs recommends a short post-curing to reduce surface tack and improve mechanical properties.

FAQ
Model Resin V3 is a fast-printing SLA material formulated for the production of high-accuracy models, including miniatures, figurines, restorative dentistry models, implant analog models, and orthodontic models. It enables dental professionals to print models in high volume, handle rush cases, and deliver highly accurate custom fixed prosthetics and implants.
Model Resin V3 is compatible with the Form 2 and Form 3 Series printers, including the Form 3, Form 3L, Form 3B, and Form 3BL. Compatible tanks include the Form 2 LT Tank, Form 3 Resin Tank V2.1, and Form 3L Resin Tank V3.
No. If you are using a Form 4 Series printer, Formlabs recommends Precision Model Resin instead. Precision Model Resin offers better accuracy, three times faster print speed, and improved aesthetics compared to Model Resin V3.
Model Resin V3 is well suited for producing solid restorative models, removable die models, implant analog models, orthodontic models, and diagnostic models, all with crisp margins and contacts.
The material is designed to be fast, consistent, and accurate. Dental labs can produce models in high volume, handle rush cases easily, and trust that results will be right the first time, reducing time spent troubleshooting or redoing cases.
Model Resin V3 has an ultimate tensile strength of 48 MPa, a tensile modulus of 2.3 GPa, a flexural modulus of 2.2 GPa, an elongation at break of 4.8%, a notched Izod of 24 J/m, and a heat deflection temperature of 75 °C at 0.45 MPa. For the full technical data, you can download the Model Resin Technical Data Sheet.
Model Resin V3 supports a minimum layer thickness of 50 microns, enabling fine detail and accurate surface reproduction.
Post-processing involves two main steps. First, wash the part using isopropyl alcohol or an ether-based solution to remove uncured resin from the surface. Formlabs Form Wash or Form Wash L are both compatible. Second, post-cure the part using a Form Cure or Form Cure L unit. Post-curing is essential for parts to achieve their full strength and intended functional properties by completing the chemical reaction initiated during printing.
Model Resin V3 is available in 1 L and 5 L cartridges for the Form 3 Series. Bulk order discounts are available at graduated volume tiers. For specific pricing and volume discount details, visit the product page or contact the Formlabs sales team.
In addition to a compatible Form 3 Series printer, you will need a compatible resin tank such as the Form 3 Resin Tank V2.1 or Form 3L Resin Tank V3, as well as a compatible build platform. Formlabs also recommends pairing Model Resin V3 with Form Wash and Form Cure for a complete post-processing workflow.
