Transporting your resin tank
Follow these instructions to safely package your resin tank for protection when transporting it to a different workspace.
Note:
Storing a resin tank does not extend the tank’s lifetime.
- Inspect the tank to ensure that it is free of debris or damage. For information on examples of tank damage, see:
- Pour the resin from the resin tank into an opaque, resin-safe container. Formlabs recommends filtering the resin prior to storing it for travel.
- Remove any remaining resin from the resin tank.
- For Form 2 tanks: use the rounded spatula
- For LFS resin tanks use the tank tool
- For Form 4 and Form 4L tanks: use the plastic scraper tool
Notice:
Do not pour resin from the resin tank back into the corresponding resin cartridge. Doing so may contaminate the resin in the resin cartridge.
Do not use IPA or other solvents to clean the inside of a Form 2 resin tank or a LFS resin tank.
- Close the resin container and store the resin away from direct sunlight in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated area.
- Cover the resin tank.
- For LFS resin tanks: Place the resin tank into its case and cover with the case lid.
- For Form 2, Form 4, and Form 4L resin tanks: Place the lid over the resin tank. Store tanks in a place where light will not pass through the clear tank window on the underside of the tank.
- Store tanks on a level surface.
Tip:
Label the tank and tank case to track the type and age of the resin in each tank.
