Proactive maintenance is key to keep your Form Auto printing successfully. Keep the machine and the surrounding environment clean and free of liquid resin. Clean any liquid resin using paper towels dampened with soap and water. If necessary, dampen the paper towels with isopropyl alcohol to fully remove the resin.

Follow the maintenance schedule to inspect, clean, and maintain your Form Auto.

When you update the firmware on the printer attached to the Form Auto, the printer automatically updates the firmware on the Form Auto if a new version is available. Keep your printer’s firmware up to date to get the latest bug fixes and improved functionality.

In case of a resin spill, clean the printer following Formlabs recommendations. If the liquid resin is contained within the printer, no further action is needed to clean the Form Auto.

In case of a severe resin spill on the Form Auto:

1. Power off and unplug the Form Auto.
2. Clean any liquid resin using paper towels dampened with soap and water. Dampen the paper towels with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) if necessary to fully remove the resin.
3. Dry the Form Auto with paper towels or allow the IPA to fully evaporate.
4. Connect the Form Auto to its power source and power on the unit.
5. Ensure that the turntable moves smoothly and that the Form Auto correctly recognizes when the printer is in both the printing position and the touchscreen position. If you encounter any issues, contact Formlabs Support or your authorized reseller.

Clean the part release bin after emptying it.

To clean the part release bin:

1. Remove the part release bin from under the part release mechanism.
2. Remove the wash basket with your printed parts.
3. Rinse the part release bin with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or water and wipe with a paper towel.
   1. Safely dispose of the IPA in accordance with local regulations.
4. Rinse the wash basket with IPA or clean it with your printed parts as part of a normal wash cycle in a Form Wash L.
5. Place the wash basket in the part release bin.
6. Place the part release bin under the part release mechanism so that it is flush with the part release gantry.

Clean the part release enclosure when you change resins to prevent liquid resin from contaminating the surface of your printed parts. Fully clean the build platform at the same time to prevent resin contamination.

To clean the part release enclosure:

1. Power off and unplug the Form Auto.
2. Clean any liquid resin on the three sections of the part release enclosure using paper towels dampened with soap and water. Dampen the paper towels with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) if necessary to fully remove the resin.
3. Dry the part release enclosure or allow the IPA to fully evaporate.
4. Connect the Form Auto to its power source and power it on.

Alternatively:

5. Dry the part release enclosure with paper towels or allow the IPA to fully evaporate.
6. Reinstall and secure the three sections of the part release enclosure.
7. Connect the Form Auto to its power source and power on the unit.
8. Insert a clean Build Platform 2 and recalibrate your Form Auto. Tap Settings > Form Auto > Calibrate Part Removal. Rotate the printer into the printing position and tap Calibrate.

Be sure to also follow the schedule of maintenance for the printer installed on the Form Auto.

If you encounter any mechanical issues, ensure that there are no obstructions blocking the cover, part release mechanism, part release enclosure, or any other moving parts on the Form Auto. If the machine is free of obstructions and the mechanical issues persist, contact Formlabs Support or your authorized reseller.
