The build chamber is the container into which the Fuse 1 deposits powder. That powder is then sintered into solid parts or left loose to support parts as they print. Be sure to inspect, clean, and store the build chamber properly between each print.
Inspecting the build chamber
Check that the build chamber is in good condition between prints:
Build chambers are mechanical devices and have moving parts that wear over time. Contact Formlabs Support or your certified service provider if your build chamber is making unusual noises during a print, is not detected by the printer, or otherwise not functioning properly.
Cleaning the build chamber
To prevent loose powder from becoming airborne, vacuum the top of the build chamber before storing empty build chambers outside of the Fuse 1 or Fuse Sift.
If the build chamber plug is contaminated or build chamber-related errors occur, clean the plug on both the build chamber and on the corresponding Fuse 1 generation printer or Fuse Sift. Use compressed air to blow out any powder from the plugs. Inspect the plugs carefully and apply a small amount of contact cleaner if any contamination remains visible.

Storage
Between prints, store empty build chambers in the Fuse 1, Fuse Sift, or on a sturdy flat surface. To prevent powder contamination that can lead to failed prints, avoid storing build chambers in areas where dust or other debris may settle.
