Reprogramming a resin tank (Form 4 and Form 4L generation)

Reprogramming a resin tank (Form 4 and Form 4L generation)

There may be circumstances where you need to reprogram a Form 4 or Form 4L generation resin tank so it can be used with a different resin type. For example, you may have started a print with a new resin tank but inserted the wrong resin cartridge. In this case, you can use the printer’s touchscreen to reprogram the resin tank to accept a new resin type.

  1. Inspect the tank to ensure that it is free of debris.
  2. Pour the resin from the resin tank into an opaque, resin-safe container.
  3. Wipe any remaining resin from the resin tank using a soft sided tool, squeegee or scraper.

Notice:

Riprogrammazione del serbatoio resina

After thoroughly cleaning your resin tank, insert the tank into the printer to begin the process of reprogramming.

Avviso:

Assicurati che il serbatoio resina sia pulito e privo di resina prima di procedere alla riprogrammazione. Mescolare diversi tipi di resina in un serbatoio resina può danneggiare il serbatoio o avere un effetto negativo sulle stampe.

  1. Insert the cleaned resin tank into the printer.
  2. Upload a print job to the printer that requires the resin type you want to assign to the resin tank.
  3. Insert a resin cartridge that matches the print job.
  4. Start the print. The printer displays Error 1.6.10: Incorrect tank inserted.
  5. Tap Ignore. A confirmation screen appears.
  6. Confirm that you want to reprogram the resin tank. The resin tank is reprogrammed to match the print job.

Notice:

Reprogramming a tank for use with a biocompatible resin may impact the biocompatibility of your printed parts. You acknowledge and agree that reprogramming is at your own risk and Formlabs is not liable for any adverse results that may occur. You are responsible for testing and validating your printed parts to ensure they meet your specifications and biocompatibility requirements.
