Grey Pro Resin

Grey Pro Resin for Versatile Prototyping

Grey Pro Resin offers high precision, moderate elongation, and low creep. This material is great for concept modeling and functional prototyping, especially for parts that will be handled repeatedly.

Grey Pro Resin is ideal for:
  • Form and fit testing
  • Injection molded product prototypes
  • Mold masters for plastics, silicones, and more
  • Jigs and fixtures for manufacturing

Requires Resin Tank V2 for Form 3 and Resin Tank LT for Form 2. Grey Pro Resin decreases the lifetime of resin tanks. Read more about Resin Tank LT lifetime and Form 3 Resin Tank lifetime.

Technical Data

An all-purpose functional prototyping material, Grey Pro has good elongation, high heat resistance, and low creep.

Rigid Resin

Rigid Resin for Stiffness and Precision

Rigid Resin is reinforced with glass to offer very high stiffness and a polished finish. This material is highly resistant to deformation over time and is great for printing thin walls and features.

Rigid Resin is ideal for:
  • Turbines and fan blades
  • Jigs, fixtures, and tooling
  • Manifolds
  • Electrical casings and automotive housings

Requires Resin Tank V2 for Form 3 and Resin Tank LT for Form 2. Rigid Resin decreases the lifetime of resin tanks. Read more about Resin Tank LT lifetime and Form 3 Resin Tank lifetime.

Technical Data

Rigid Resin has the highest modulus of all Formlabs materials. It has great heat resistance and stability, but is more brittle and less impact resistant than Tough Resin and Durable Resin.

Elastic Resin

Elastic Resin for Soft Flexible Parts

Our softest Engineering Resin, this 50A Shore durometer material is suitable for prototyping parts normally produced with silicone. Choose Elastic Resin for parts that will bend, stretch, compress, and hold up to repeated cycles without tearing.

  1. View Print Preparation Guide
Elastic Resin is ideal for:
  • Wearables and consumer goods prototyping
  • Medical models and devices
  • Compliant features for robotics
  • Special effects props and models

Requires Resin Tank V2 for Form 3 and Resin Tank LT for Form 2. Elastic Resin decreases the lifetime of resin tanks. Read more about Resin Tank LT lifetime and Form 3 Resin Tank lifetime.

Technical Data

Elastic Resin is the softest of our Engineering Resins, with a Shore durometer of 50A as well as high elongation and energy return. With high tear strength, this material can withstand repeated cycles.

Flexible Resin

Flexible Resin for Hard Flexible Parts

An 80A Shore durometer material for more rigid flexible parts with a matte-black soft-touch finish. Choose Flexible Resin to create ergonomic features as part of larger assemblies.

Flexible Resin is ideal for:
  • Cushioning and damping
  • Wearables and consumer goods prototyping
  • Handles, grips, and overmolds

Technical Data

Flexible Resin has a Shore durometer of 80A, close to that of rubbers used to produce shoe soles or tire treads. This material has low tensile modulus and high elongation.

High Temp Resin

High Temp Resin for High Thermal Stability

High Temp Resin offers a heat deflection temperature (HDT) of 238 °C @ 0.45 MPa, the highest among Formlabs resins. Use it to print detailed, precise prototypes with high temperature resistance.

High Temp Resin is ideal for:
  • Hot air, gas, and fluid flow
  • Heat resistant mounts, housings, and fixtures
  • Molds and inserts

Technical Data

High Temp Resin offers a heat deflection temperature (HDT) of 238 °C @ 0.45 MPa, the highest among Formlabs resins. Materials with higher HDT typically map to lower elongation.

Handling & Safety

Handling & Safety

Resin should be handled with care. Proper handling will ensure safe printing and efficient use. Our resins have been designed to be similar or safer to handle as other household chemicals or adhesives. Formlabs materials do not contain volatile solvents so special ventilation is not required. Skin contact should be avoided.

The Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are up to date for every resin product and follow the latest government guidelines. Always consult the SDS as the primary source of information to understand safety and handling of Formlabs materials. For more information about handling resin, learn more tips for resin maintenance in our Help Center.
