FAQ

White Resin V5 is a new general purpose SLA resin formulated specifically for the Form 4 Series ecosystem. Compared to White Resin V4, it prints three times faster, produces a brighter and crisper white color, and delivers improved toughness with 2x elongation at break and 25% higher impact strength.

White Resin V5 is compatible with Form 4, Form 4B, Form 4L, and Form 4BL printers. It is not compatible with earlier printer generations such as the Form 3 Series.

White Resin V5 is well suited for form and fit prototyping, anatomical models, presentation-ready models with fine features and intricate details, jigs, and fixtures. Its stiffness, strength, and matte white finish make it a strong choice across a wide range of design and engineering workflows.

White Resin V5 delivers a bright, matte white finish that rivals the appearance of injection-molded parts. It captures fine features accurately and produces clean, crisp results suitable for presentation-ready models.

White Resin V5 is formulated for high dimensional accuracy, allowing users to achieve precise tolerances and resolve fine features across a variety of part geometries.

When post-cured at 60 °C for 15 minutes, White Resin V5 offers an ultimate tensile strength of 62 MPa, a flexural strength of 103 MPa, a tensile modulus of 2675 MPa, and a heat deflection temperature of 71 °C at 0.45 MPa. For the full property table, download the White Resin V5 Technical Data Sheet.

Post-curing is optional for general purpose resins. However, Formlabs recommends a short post-cure to reduce surface tack and improve mechanical properties. Formlabs recommends using Form Cure or Form Cure L units. Cure settings are available separately for Form Cure V1, Form Cure V2, Form Cure L V1, and Form Cure L V2.

The foundational post-processing step is washing parts in an alcohol or ether bath to remove excess resin from the surface. Formlabs recommends using Form Wash or Form Wash L with the appropriate time settings available on the Formlabs support site.

No. White Resin V5 is formulated with ultra-low volatile organic compounds (VOCs), making for an extremely low-odor printing experience that is comfortable for everyday use.
