As part of our development process, we've already been lucky enough to work with two incredible designers – Marcelo Coelho and Skylar Tibbits – our Formlabs' Artists-in-Residence. We're happy to announce that Hyperform, a joint collaboration between Marcelo Coelho, Skylar Tibbits, and Formlings Natan Linder and Yoav Reches, was recently recognized by Ars Electronica and has won the 2013 “[The Next Idea]: Voestalpine Art and Technology Grant.”
Hyperform is a design and research effort to identify computational and material folding strategies that will allow desktop 3D printers to create large-scale objects by efficiently using the full volume of the 3D printer. Look for the Hyperform team to present at the 2013 Ars Electronica Festival!
