Introducing DeForm 1: Unbuild Your Ideas

For the past 13 years, Formlabs has set out to build the tools that make it possible for anyone to bring their ideas to life, but over the years, we’ve realized that not every idea deserves a place in this world.

Introducing DeForm 1, empowering the unbuilding of ideas. With this revolutionary tool, Formlabs is expanding our mission, building the tools that make it possible for anyone to take their bad ideas out of this world.

Blazing Fast UnPrinting With Quick-Destroy Technology

State-of-the-art carbide shredding blades were developed by Formlabs engineers to handle the toughest of materials. Start by filling the DeBuild Chamber with materials that may include:

  • Polymers

  • Metals

  • Wood

  • Food scraps

  • General waste

DeForm 1 is not limited to a single material per UnPrinting — any combination of materials can be loaded into the DeBuild Chamber. However, the duration of an UnPrinting will vary based on material and unbuild volume.

Once the chamber has been processed, an Automatic Disposal feature self-empties the DeBuild Chamber as fast as it can destroy the parts. This automatic feature streamlines workflows, increasing the throughput of your UnPrinting.

Whether you’re undoing a mistake, rethinking a prototype, destroying evidence, decluttering, or balancing production with destruction, DeForm 1 is a powerful tool.

PostForm Software

Free PostForm software shows how DeForm 1 will unbuild parts. With a patented UnPrinting process, users can preview deconstruction. Features include time estimates for unbuilding based on material inputs, size and distance of debris during Automatic Disposal, and a running counter of the material a DeForm 1 has unbuilt.

PostForm is available for MacOS and Windows XP, for easy visualization of the UnPrinting process.

Start Unbuilding

DeForm 1 is the next-generation unbuilder for when it’s time to not just think outside the box, but destroy it entirely. With this release, Formlabs is proud to expand our offerings to empower creators and destroyers.
