Underwater Robots, Prosthetics, and Space Rovers

What would you do with Tough Resin? From human-powered prosthetics to underwater robots, Form 1+ users thought up a whole range of applications for our Tough Resin Giveaway. We were blown away by the incredible ideas that we heard!

In no particular order, here are the three winners of a bottle of Tough Resin and a new resin tank!

HippoCampus
Axel Hackbarth is part of a team at the Technical University of Hamburg who created a swarm of miniature, autonomous underwater vehicles for leakage detection in harbors. Axel and the team at HippoCampus hope to use the impact resistance of Tough Resin to protect the vehicles against unforeseen collisions.

Naked Prosthetics
Naked Prosthetics provides digit amputees with functional, body-powered prosthetic devices. Each device is custom built with the individual’s needs in mind, easing the transition into everyday life after an amputation. COO Jon Bengtsson would like to see if Tough Resin can hold up to the demands of the amputee community.

Mission Possible Space Exploration project
This is a project from John Kaluta, a teacher at Montgomery Blair High School in Maryland. He plans to use Tough Resin to have his Engineering students design and build a model space rover with data collecting and engineering apparatus.

Thanks to everyone who entered. We’re excited to see your Form 1+ creations with Tough Resin! Share your completed projects with the community on our forum.
