Taring the cartridge floor load cell

Taring the cartridge floor load cell

The Form 3L/Form 3BL uses a load cell in each cartridge floor to track the weight of the inserted resin cartridges during a print. This improves the accuracy of resin usage estimates and can speed up the resin dispensing process. If the printer is not accurately detecting how much resin is left in the resin cartridges, follow the instructions in this article to tare, or reset, the cartridge sensor.

To tare the cartridge floor load cell:

  1. On the touchscreen, tap the wrench icon to access Settings.
  2. Tap Maintenance. The Maintenance screen appears.
  3. Scroll down and tap Calibration > Tare Cartridge Sensor.
  4. Tap Next.
  5. Remove any inserted resin cartridges from the printer when prompted by the touchscreen.
  6. After removing the resin cartridges, tap Tare.
  7. Tap Done when taring is complete.
  8. If the taring process fails, ensure that nothing is touching the cartridge floor and tap Retry.

If you continue to experience issues with the Form 3L or Form 3BL not accurately measuring how much resin remains in the cartridges, contact Formlabs Support.
