Fuse 1 generation error messages: Error 180/1-8 Heater Current Too Low
Error 180 indicates that the output of one or more of the heaters is lower than it should be.
On printers running firmware version 1.18.0 and newer, the printer error codes have a subcode that correspond to the heater that reported the error.

Error 180/1
Error 180/1 indicates an issue with the printer’s air heater or its RTD temperature sensor and requires additional assistance to resolve. Please contact Formlabs Support or your certified service provider. Include your printer’s diagnostic logs with other relevant observations and details.
Error 180/2, Error 180/3, or Error 180/6
- Press the black plastic plate on the build chamber plug to reveal all of the plug pins.
- Check the plug for any bent or sunken pins. If a pin sinks into the plug, gently pull on the pin with a pair of pliers. If the pin does not remain in place, the connector housing may be broken. Please contact Formlabs Support or your certified service provider. Include your printer’s diagnostic logs to speed up resolution.
- If no pins are damaged, clean the pins and the socket for the build chamber plug with an electrical contact cleaner. Let the pins fully dry before reseating the build chamber plug.
If the issue persists, contact Formlabs Support or your certified service provider. Include your printer’s diagnostic logs with a photo of the damaged build chamber socket to speed up resolution.
Error 180/4 or Error 180/5
Firmware version 1.21.0 or newer should not trigger this error. Please update your firmware to the latest version.

Error 180/7 or Error 180/8
Error 180/7 indicates that the hopper (right) side quartz tube heater is malfunctioning. Error 180/8 indicates that the buffer (left) side quartz tube heater is malfunctioning.
Inspect the quartz tube frame sockets where the quartz tube inserts into the printer. If the socket is damaged, the quartz tube frame may need to be replaced. Contact Formlabs Support or your certified service provider. Include your printer’s diagnostic logs with a photo of the damaged quartz tube frame socket to speed up resolution.
If the quartz tube frame socket is not damaged, replace the affected quartz tube heater following the instructions in the repair guide Replacing the Fuse 1 quartz tube heaters [EN] [DE] [ES] [FR] [IT] [JA] [ZH]. Replacement quartz tubes can be purchased from the Formlabs web store. If the quartz tube frame sockets are not damaged but swapping the affected heater does not resolve the error, check the heater for damage that may have occurred during shipping or installation before contacting Formlabs Support or your certified service provider.
