    • Denture Base Resin V2: Produce durable, natural-looking dentures that exceed ISO standards with ease using Formlabs' new high-impact, Class II biocompatible denture base material. Select it from the material menu in the dental workflow. Learn more.
  • Improvements:
    • Version-first material selection: For versioned dental materials such as Denture Base Resin, you can now choose the material version first and have the available shades filter to match—instead of having to pick a shade before the version you want becomes selectable.
  • Bug fixes:
    • Form Wash / Form Cure updater crash on device connection: Fixed a crash where connecting a Form Cure L V2 (or certain other USB devices) could cause PreForm to close the moment the device was detected.
  • Print settings updates:
    • New Supports V2 (V2.0) print settings for Black Resin V5 at 50 microns on Form 4 generation printers.
    • New Default (V1.0) print settings for Denture Base Resin V2 at 100 microns on Form 4B and Form 4BL printers.

Note:

Form 2 Ceramic Resin deprecation notice: Support for Form 2 Ceramic Resin will be removed in a future PreForm version. Users who need to continue printing with Ceramic on Form 2 should not upgrade past PreForm version 3.60.0. This is the final release in which the resin is supported.

  • New features:
    • Fuse X1 support: PreForm now supports the Fuse X1 SLS printer.
    • Flexible 80A Resin V2: The new Flexible 80A Resin is now available in PreForm for Form 4 and Form 4L generation printers.
    • Auto-Recovery: PreForm now automatically saves local backups of your active work at regular intervals. If PreForm quits unexpectedly, you will be prompted on the next launch to recover lost progress from the most recent backup. The backup interval and the recovery feature can be configured under PreForm > Preferences > General.
    • Realistic View: A new view toggle in the top-right of the 3D scene lets you switch between the standard view and a Realistic View, where parts are rendered as they will actually look when printed, including material color, touchpoints, layer lines, and surface textures. The Realistic View button is always visible; it is greyed out for materials that are not yet supported. Currently supported materials include:
      • Grey Resin V5
      • Black Resin V5
      • White Resin V5
      • Fast Model Resin V1
      • Precision Model Resin V1
      • Tough 1000 Resin V1
      • Tough 1500 Resin V2
      • Tough 2000 Resin V2
      • Rigid 4000 Resin V1
      • Rigid 10K Resin V1.1
      • Flexible 80A Resin V2
      • Nylon 12 Powder V1
      • Nylon 11 Powder V1
      • Nylon 12 Tough Powder V1
      • Nylon 12 GF Powder V1
    • Variable Print Scale Correction in Z-axis: The Print Settings Editor has updated the Z Correction Factor from a single value to an array for SLS materials. Changing values in this array changes the scale factor applied to all models at different heights within the build chamber, allowing print accuracy to be controlled throughout a full build height.
      • The Z Correction Factor array field defines a lookup table of Z height (mm) and scale factors. With one entry, it acts as a constant correction. With multiple entries, it linearly interpolates between them. Click Edit Array Field to open the table popup, where you can add, duplicate, edit, or delete points in the lookup table.
  • Improvements:
    • Separate Bodies refinement: The Separate Bodies context menu option (formerly "Split Bodies," introduced in version 3.59.0) is now disabled when right-clicking a single-body model, making it clear that the feature only applies to multi-body parts.
    • Z-Bleed Compensation control in Print Settings Editor: The Z-Bleed Compensation parameter in the Print Settings Editor has been redesigned for clarity. Instead of entering an offset in layer counts, you now enter the maximum compensation amount directly in millimeters and can adjust it in increments matching the layer height.
    • Biocompatible material Print Settings Editor parameters now fully editable: Previously, biocompatible materials locked out layer height and scale in the Print Settings Editor even after acknowledging the out-of-certification warning. All public fields are now editable once you accept the warning, consistent with the behavior for other materials.
    • Local network permission dialog: If PreForm launches without local network permissions (which is required for printer discovery), it now shows a clear in-app dialog with a link to our support article on network permissions.
    • Dental Form 4B/4BL users: print settings download link: Users on Form 4B and Form 4BL printers now see a link in PreForm to download available dental print settings files (.fps).
    • Elastic 50A Resin V2 renamed to Flexible 50A Resin: As part of the Flexible 80A Resin V2 launch, Elastic 50A Resin V2 has been renamed to Flexible 50A Resin throughout the PreForm and printer UIs.
    • BioMed Elastic 50A Resin renamed to BioMed Flex 50A Resin: As part of the Flexible 80A Resin V2 launch, BioMed Elastic 50A Resin has been renamed to BioMed Flex 50A Resin throughout the PreForm and printer UIs.
  • Bug fixes:
    • Fixed a longstanding issue on macOS where clicking "Check for Updates" would sometimes do nothing, and the automatic update notification never appeared. Mac users should now reliably receive update prompts and be able to update from within the app.
    • Fixed a crash that occurred when cancelling the loading of a large .form file mid-progress. PreForm now correctly handles cancellation and returns to idle without crashing.
    • Fixed an issue where importing a .3mf file caused models to be placed at incorrect positions and flagged as colliding, despite being correctly laid out in the source file (e.g., from Fusion 360 via the Formlabs API).
    • Several keyboard shortcuts using the Alt key were not functioning on Windows. These shortcuts have been restored.
    • Fixed a bug introduced in 3.59.0 where dragging a .form file into PreForm and then opening a new file or switching files would incorrectly trigger an unsaved changes warning, even when no changes had been made.
    • Fixed intermittent failures in the Scan to Model feature caused by edge cases in the Delaunay triangulation algorithm, which could cause the tool to silently fail on certain mesh geometries.
    • Fixed issue where the Separate Bodies feature snapped newly made parts to the bottom of the build chamber in Fuse 1 generation scenes. It now only snaps to the build platform for SLA scenes.
    • Fixed issue where some support flyout settings were lost upon saving and reopening a .form file.
  • Print settings updates:
    • New Default print settings for Flexible 80A Resin V2 at 100 microns on Form 4 and Form 4L generation printers.
    • Support presets removed: The support presets dropdown has been removed from the support flyout for Form 4 and Form 4L generation printers. Users who relied on a specific preset can download them at this page.
  • Knowin issues:
    • Startup times are slow on macOS for the first application launch after installing or updating PreForm. After starting PreForm once, subsequent launches will not have this slowdown.
    • macOS may show a warning about support ending for Intel-based apps. This does not cause any issues within PreForm.
    • Very high model counts can slow down rendering when the model list is open. It is recommended to collapse the model list for scenes with more than 1,000 parts.

    • Fixed issue where deleting custom FPS file crashed PreForm
    • Fixed issue where generating supports with rafts exceeding the build platform area crashed PreForm
    • When importing models, cups were not being detected due to an interaction with the minima detection setting. Cup detection now works correctly on import regardless of the minima detection state.
    • Fixed issue where pasting large numbers of models was very slow
    • Certain .form files opened with the Reinforcements density set to the maximum value (10.18) and the slider frozen and uneditable. Fixed so the correct value loads and the slider is always accessible.
  • Known issues:
    • Very high model counts can slow down rendering when the model list is open. It is recommended to collapse the model list for scenes with more than 1,000 parts.
