Cleaning the Form 4 or Form 4L generation cartridge floor

Over time, uncured resin can accumulate on the cartridge floor, dispense arm, and cartridge dispense spring. If you experience dispensing errors, cleaning the cartridge floor may help.

Form 4 generation

  1. Unplug the machine from its power source. Wait at least five minutes before continuing.

  1. Use a 2.5 mm hex driver to remove the eight screws securing the back panel to the printer. Set the screws aside.
  2. Remove the back panel by sliding it down and away from the back of the printer. Set the back panel aside.
  1. Dampen cleaning swabs with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and use them to thoroughly clean the cartridge floor.
  2. Move the dispense arm by hand, checking that it pivots smoothly and returns to its starting position without sticking.
  3. Allow any remaining IPA to fully evaporate.
Form 4 cartridge floor
  1. Slide the top edge of the back panel under the cover bracket. Ensure that the eight screw holes in the back panel align with the corresponding holes in the printer and the back panel sits flush with the sides of the cover.
  2. Thread one back panel screw into each of the eight screw holes in the back panel. Use a 2.5 mm hex driver to tighten until snug.

Tip:

If it is difficult to access or clean the cartridge floor, you can fully remove it. Follow the guide for replacing the Form 4 cartridge floor to remove the component for cleaning.

Form 4L generation

The two cartridge floors on Form 4L generation printers are visible and accessible from the right side of the machine.
