Why Choose Nylon 11 Pro Powder
The toughness of injection-molded engineering thermoplastics, with the printability and economics of Nylon 12.
Uncompromising Toughness
With 5x the elongation at break and nearly 2x the impact resistance of Nylon 12, Nylon 11 Pro produces functional parts that absorb drops, impacts, and repeated handling without cracking — the best choice for replacing injection-molded engineering thermoplastics.
Durability Without Trade-Offs
High-performance powders are usually the hardest to print with. Nylon 11 Pro isn't. It runs at a 30% refresh rate with the same print success rate as Nylon 12, delivering consistent, high-yield builds. The toughest SLS material is now also one of the most economical to run.
Robust Fine Features
Thin walls, living hinges, snap-fits, and fine features are 10x tougher than in Nylon 12, surviving depowdering, aggressive handling, and automated post-processing. Complex geometries reach the user's hands exactly as designed.
Unmatched Design Freedom
Compliant mechanisms, integrated hinges, and sub-millimeter walls print in a single build — no fasteners, no assembly. The ductility of Nylon 11 Pro lets you design the part your application needs, instead of the part your material allows.
Applications*
Combining toughness and ductility, Nylon 11 Pro Powder is built for parts that move, flex, and take hits. It handles rugged prototypes, thin-walled assemblies, snap-fit mechanisms, production tooling, and devices worn every day.
* Material properties may vary based on part design and manufacturing practices. It is the manufacturer’s responsibility to validate the suitability of the printed parts for the intended use.

Impact-resistant prototypes and end-use parts
High robustness makes Nylon 11 Pro Powder well suited to rugged parts. These motocross shock absorber covers need to bend and return to shape on impact, rather than fracturing suddenly.

Thin-walled ducts and enclosures
Thin features are tough and consistent. This fixed-wing drone's airframe is just 0.5 mm thick, light enough to take off but sturdy enough to survive media blasting and a hard landing.

Snaps, clips, and living hinges
Outstanding ductility enables features that flex repeatedly without failing. This bike light holder pairs a hinge that wraps around the seatpost with a clip-in mount for the light itself.

Durable jigs, fixtures, and tooling
On the factory floor or out in the world, the material holds up to daily wear. This robotics wheel chuck must withstand high acceleration, changing forces, and the occasional crash.

Orthotics and prosthetics
Lightweight strength, flexibility, and excellent fatigue resistance suit insoles, AFOs, and braces — devices worn daily for months, flexing thousands of times without cracking or losing their shape.

Wearable devices
Skin-safe, biocompatible, and ductile, Nylon 11 Pro Powder is built for wearables — sensor housings, glasses frames, hearing aid shells, and headset frames that sit against skin for hours and survive accidental drops and daily wear. Finish them with vapor smoothing or ceramic coating for a custom color and surface.

Bulk Powder Pricing for Your Lowest Cost Per Part
3D printing is now cost-effective even at higher volumes thanks to substantial volume discounts for our SLS Powders. Discounts start at 20% for customers purchasing 50 kg of powder in bulk and prices can reach as low as $45 per kilogram.

FAQ
Nylon 11 Pro Powder is an SLS material that combines the toughness and durability of injection-molded engineering thermoplastics with the ease of use and consistent print performance of Nylon 12 Powder. It's built for parts that need to bend, absorb impact, and survive daily use.
Nylon 11 Pro Powder excels in applications that require bending, impact resistance, or repeated wear. Typical use cases include snaps, clips, hinges, thin-walled ducts and enclosures, impact-resistant jigs and fixtures, and medical orthotics and prosthetics such as insoles. It is ideal for functional prototyping, rapid tooling, manufacturing aids, and low-volume end-use production.
Nylon 11 Pro Powder has roughly five times the elongation at break, twice the impact resistance, and ten times the toughness in fine, thin features of Nylon 12 Powder, so parts flex and absorb impact instead of cracking. It is more isotropic, so parts perform predictably regardless of print orientation. Nylon 12 Powder is stiffer and has a higher tensile modulus and higher heat deflection temperature at 1.8 MPa. Choose Nylon 12 Powder for rigid parts and Nylon 11 Pro Powder for ductile, impact-resistant ones.
Parts printed in Nylon 11 Pro Powder absorb very little moisture and are resistant to light, heat, and chemicals, giving them strong environmental stability for demanding end-use conditions.
Yes. Nylon 11 Pro Powder is rated for long-term skin and short-term mucosal membrane contact, making it suitable for medical applications such as orthotics, prosthetics, and insoles. Download the technical data sheet for complete biocompatibility information.
Nylon 11 Pro Powder is available now for Fuse 1+ 30W and will be available for Fuse X1 in Q1 2027. It is not compatible with the Fuse 1, which has no nitrogen atmosphere. Nitrogen is required to achieve the material's properties and a good print success rate.
Nylon 11 Pro Powder uses a 30% refresh rate, consistent with several other Formlabs SLS powders such as Nylon 12.
There is little to no workflow difference. Nylon 11 Pro has the same 30% refresh rate and excellent print success rate as Nylon 12, so it's just as economical to run.
An inert atmosphere (nitrogen) and a textured roller are required to print the material. The roller's bead-blasted surface texture reduces powder curling during the build, enabling successful prints. Fuse X1 includes this roller as part of its design, and current Fuse 1+ 30W users will receive a complimentary roller, Fuse 1 Generation Recoater Roller V2, and installation instructions with an order of Nylon 11 Pro Powder.
Post-processing with the Fuse Sift or Fuse Sift X1 powder recovery station and media blasting is necessary. For a full overview of the Fuse Series post-processing workflow, download the Fuse Series Workflow & Technology Guide.
