The Form 4L uses Low Force Display™ (LFD) technology, a next-generation MSLA print engine, that uses a powerful backlight unit with LEDs, custom light processing unit, release texture, and flexible resin tank to cure resin quickly and with high accuracy.
The Form 4L offers a significantly larger build volume, making it the right choice when you need to print bigger parts or multiple parts simultaneously. For smaller, more compact workflows, the Form 4 is a strong option. Formlabs provides a dedicated comparison page to help you evaluate your options.
The Form 4L is compatible with 23 industry-leading Formlabs resins spanning categories such as general purpose, impact resistant, high stiffness, temperature resistant, elastomeric, specialty, medical, casting, and dental. The Form 4L is designed for general industrial use. For applications requiring biocompatible or dental-specific certified materials, Formlabs offers the Form 4BL Medical and Form 4BL Dental variants.
The Basic Package includes a rinse bucket and manual cleaning tools for finishing parts. For automated post-processing of large-format prints, Form Wash L and Form Cure L are available separately and are included in higher-tier Form 4L packages.
Prints are prepared using PreForm, Formlabs' free print preparation software, which handles model layout, orientation, and support generation. You can also monitor and manage your printer remotely through the Formlabs Dashboard.
