Clear Resin V5 is a high-clarity, color-neutral SLA 3D printing resin formulated specifically for the Form 4 Series ecosystem. It delivers an optimal balance of fast print speed, high accuracy, transparency, strong mechanical properties, and an easy, reliable workflow. Parts can be polished to near optical transparency and have a surface finish that rivals acrylic.

Clear Resin V5 is compatible with Form 4, Form 4B, Form 4L, and Form 4BL printers. It works with both the standard and Flex Build Platforms for each printer, as well as the corresponding Form 4 and Form 4L Resin Tanks.

Compared to Clear Resin V4, V5 prints three times faster by leveraging the Form 4 ecosystem. It also offers improved clarity and color neutrality, along with 2x elongation at break and 25% higher impact strength.

When post-cured at 60 °C for 15 minutes, Clear Resin V5 achieves an ultimate tensile strength of 60 MPa, a tensile modulus of 2750 MPa, a flexural strength of 105 MPa, and a notched Izod impact resistance of 29 J/m. Full mechanical data is available in the Clear Resin V5 Technical Data Sheet.

Clear Resin V5 supports a minimum layer thickness of 25 microns, enabling precise tolerances and fine features with high dimensional accuracy.

Yes. The resin is formulated with ultra-low volatile organic compounds (VOCs), making for a pleasant and comfortable printing experience.

Clear Resin V5 is well suited for transparent enclosures, optical components, and lighting prototypes; molds, masters, and other rapid tooling; and parts that showcase internal features or incorporate fluidic devices.

Post-curing is optional for general purpose resins. However, Formlabs recommends a short post-cure to reduce surface tack and improve mechanical properties. Formlabs recommends using Form Cure or Form Cure L units. Cure settings are available separately for Form Cure V1, Form Cure V2, Form Cure L V1, and Form Cure L V2.

Parts come off the printer with a slightly frosted appearance. Wet sanding with progressively finer grits, followed by a polishing compound or clear spray coating, can bring parts to near optical transparency.
