Formlabs Nominated for Design of the Year 2014 Award, Design Museum London
The Design Museum in London announced yesterday that they’ve nominated the Formlabs Form 1 as one of their Designs of the Year 2014
Somerville, Mass., February 11, 2014 — The Design Museum in London announced today the list of nominees for the Design of the Year 2014 award. Formlabs’ Form 1 was nominated along with a world-class collection of cutting-edge projects by architects and designers such as Zaha Hadid and David Chipperfield, and innovative companies like GoPro and Nest. The Form 1 will be at display at the Design Museum for the duration of the ‘Designs of the Year’ exhibition.
Formlabs industrial designer, Yoav Reches, said, “We’re honored and excited to be nominated for this year’s award. The Form 1 empowers professionals to realize their ideas, while introducing stereolithography as a tangible and accessible technology”. Bringing technology and design together has been a long-held principle of the team.
“We don't separate design and engineering when we create a product. Our users demand both,” co-founder Natan Linder said. “With this nomination, we’re looking forward to a new year as fantastic as the last.”
Formlabs has started 2014 with a bang, releasing version 1.0 of its powerful desktop software and introducing a user gallery on its website, showcasing some of the beautiful work of Form 1 users in the wild.
