Formlabs Expands Presence in France

New partnership with Makershop enhances Formlabs’ French sales and service efforts.

Apr 27, 2015 – Formlabs, the creators of the Form 1+ desktop 3D printer, announced an official partnership with French distributor Makershop, a leading e-commerce and distributor of 3D printing technology headquartered in France. The Form 1+ 3D printer, known for its high-resolution and detailed prints, is one of the best selling desktop stereolithography (SLA) printers on the market.

This strong partnership, coupled with an expanding presence in the region, enables Formlabs to offer enhanced sales, service, and support to Form 1+ users in France.

“We’re excited to partner with Makershop to extend greater support to France’s amazing creative community. France is known around the world for its ingenuity and style, expressed through engineering and design. Makershop is an excellent partner to bring the Form 1+ to French creators,” says Luke Winston, Formlabs Sales & Operations Lead.

French Form 1+ owners are already creating groundbreaking projects. Digital artist Gilles-Alexandre Deschaud created Chase Me, an ambitious short film made entirely from 3D printed parts on the Form 1+ 3D printer. The project took over two years to complete and is made up of more than 2,500 3D printed pieces. Equally as impressive, scientists at the European Space Agency (ESA) printed 80 comets from the Rosetta Mission and displayed them at the Cité des Sciences last November.

“Formlabs provides the best SLA technology on the market and like us, they strive to provide the utmost service that comes with it. Over the past 2 years, hundreds of makers over the world have seen their projects move to the next step thanks to the Form 1+. Now with this printer and the service that comes with it, we can't wait to see what exciting stories will be added to the list. “ - Vincent Albert, Makershop CEO.

Formlabs’ flagship Form 1+ 3D Printer ships with one-liter of resin, and includes a standard one-year warranty. Customers in France will enjoy the same seamless experience as those in North America, which includes customer support and warranty coverage.
