Unbox

Prior to unboxing, prepare a suitable workspace for the printer. Review the unboxing and setup support article for your printer for more detailed unboxing instructions:

Caution:

Due to its size and weight, do not move or reposition the Fuse 1 alone. If the unit needs to be moved, at least two or more individuals should use the lifting straps provided with the machine.

  1. Position the packaging near the designated area and stand it upright. Leave room for two people to move around it comfortably.
  2. Assemble the stand and check that the stand is level before unboxing the printer. Position the assembled stand in the designated area with the front facing towards you.
  3. Open the box from the top starting with the topper, then the inner and outer C-folds, and finally the protective pad from the top of the printer.
  4. Open the hopper and remove the power cable, lifting straps, and optical cassette packed inside.
  5. Loop the lifting straps under the printer from left-to-right. With one person on each side, insert your forearms into each loop so they do not go past your elbows.
  6. With your back straight and knees slightly bent, brace against the printer with your palms as you and a second person lift the unit up.
  7. Carefully move the printer onto the stand, keeping the four feet aligned with the corresponding recesses on the stand.
  8. Remove any additional wrapping and packaging from outside of the printer before connecting the machine to power.

Fuse 1 generation printers require an operating environment that is low in ambient humidity and static electricity. Due to the sensitive nature of its components and the printing mediums, system reliability and print quality may fluctuate if the ambient temperature and moisture are outside the recommended ranges. Refer to the support article on workspace preparation for the recommended operating environs. When performing maintenance or testing with the exterior paneling of the machine removed, ground equipment to the grounding stud marked with this protective earth symbol.

Verbindung

  1. Connect the machine to a secured network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
  2. Register your Fuse 1 generation printer on Dashboard.

Preparing for use

Nächste Schritte

Once you’ve set up your Fuse 1 generation printer, download PreForm to your computer and prepare for your first print.

After installing PreForm, refer to support articles on using PreForm and designing successful 3D models to learn more about the software and about preparing models for printing on Formlabs SLS printers.

If this is your first time using PreForm, an onboarding tutorial will appear and walk you through the software’s capabilities. Click Help > Show Onboarding Tutorial to review this information at any time.

Upload a print job to the machine and start the print on the touchscreen. After the build chamber has fully cooled, remove it from the printer and move it to the Fuse Sift to retrieve and clean your prints. After unpacking the powder cake in the Fuse Sift, transfer your printed parts to the Fuse Blast for cleaning an polishing.
