Resin Family

Rigid

Choose our family of Rigid Resins when prototyping strong and stiff parts that need to resist bending. Parts made from these materials are thermally and chemically resistant and will be dimensionally stable under load, but will experience brittle failure if pushed to their limits.

Ideal for:

  • Jigs, fixtures, and tooling
  • Turbines and fan blades
  • Fluid and airflow components
  • Electrical casings and automotive housings

Materials in this family

Rigid 10K

Rigid, Strong, Industrial-Grade Prototypes

This highly glass-filled resin is the stiffest material in our engineering portfolio. Choose Rigid 10K Resin for precise industrial parts that need to withstand significant load without bending. Rigid 10K Resin exhibits a smooth matte finish and is highly resistant to heat and chemicals.

Which Material Is Right for You?

Trying to choose a material within our Rigid family? A good place to start is the tensile modulus which is a measure of stiffness. A higher tensile modulus indicates a stiffer material.

Rigid Injection Molding
single quotation mark

We need parts that not only can handle the temperatures and pressures, but are accurately located in the mold and are not going to bend, deflect, break. And, you know, they need to be able to handle those pressures.

Handling & Safety

Handling & Safety

Resin should be handled with care. Proper handling will ensure safe printing and efficient use. Our resins have been designed to be similar or safer to handle as other household chemicals or adhesives. Formlabs materials do not contain volatile solvents so special ventilation is not required. Skin contact should be avoided.

The Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are up to date for every resin product and follow the latest government guidelines. Always consult the SDS as the primary source of information to understand safety and handling of Formlabs materials.
