Washing
The foundational step in any SLA post-processing workflow is to remove any excess resin on the surface of the parts through an alcohol or ether wash.

Curing
Post-curing for General Purpose Resins is optional. However, Formlabs recommends a short post-curing to reduce surface tack and improve mechanical properties.

FAQ
The Color Kit is the first integrated color mixing solution for resin 3D printing. It lets you print matte, opaque parts in a range of colors directly off the printer, without any finishing, dyeing, or painting required.
The kit includes one Color Base Resin cartridge and all five Color Pigment bottles: cyan, magenta, yellow, black, and white.
The Color Kit (Form 4) is compatible with the Form 4, Form 4B. A separate Color Kit for the Form 3 is also available.
You can follow one of the 16 tested recipes included with the kit, or use the Formlabs Color Picker tool to create a custom color mix.
Yes. Color Kit produces a uniform color throughout the entire printed part, not just on the surface.
Parts come off a Formlabs SLA printer with a smooth surface finish, comparable to the look and feel of a finished product, without additional manual work.
The Color Kit is ideal for applications where color matters visually, including props and figurines, concept models, and looks-like prototypes. It allows you to field-test product concepts more quickly with prints that fit their intended environment.
Post-processing involves two main steps. First, wash the part using isopropyl alcohol or an ether-based solution to remove uncured resin from the surface. Formlabs Form Wash or Form Wash L are both compatible. Second, post-cure the part using a Form Cure or Form Cure L unit. Post-curing is essential for parts to achieve their full strength and intended functional properties by completing the chemical reaction initiated during printing.
Pricing can change over time, so visit the Color Kit product page for the most current pricing and to add it to your cart. Color Base Resin can also be purchased separately when you need to restock.
