Tuning the Fuse Blast media metering valve
Tuning the Fuse Blast media metering valve
The media metering valve controls the flow of media to the blast gun. During normal operation, media flow should be consistent as media falls onto and through the work surface grates.
Early production units of the Fuse Blast require tuning the media metering valve during installation. Once tuned, the media metering valve does not require readjustment unless the valve is moved. Newer Fuse Blast units do not require tuning.
To tune the metering valve:
- Start an automatic blast cycle with 10 minutes of blast time, 0 minutes part rinse, and 0 minutes cabinet rinse.
- With the blast gun running, fully close the gray media metering valve underneath the media hopper. You can observe media flow by looking at the media hose leading to the blast gun.

- While watching the media hose and blast gun, open the media valve in small increments.
- Between each increment, wait ten seconds for the flow of blasting media to improve.
- Continue to slowly open the media metering valve until the media flows in low-frequency waves or a consistent stream.
